No more pencils, no more books…
Greetings and salutations!¬† Since I already have mentioned my sister’s graduation invites, I thought I’d follow up. As you recall, I was totally stumped until I happened upon this from none other than inspiration source #1: Urban Outfitters:
And blam wow whamo- IDEA = Scantron!
So I STARTED this very rough idea:
And presented them both to her. Wonder of wonders she liked them both (I actually liked this new one better so, never fear, it shall be flushed out with the little ornate inset like the Urban bag) but was won over by the original one that I had created for the Minted contest. Now, that isn’t terribly shocking since I had her in mind all along so YAY! Way to go year ago me!
We changed the original rock hands to a horse shoe because she is not only an equestrian but is going to school for Equine Therapy (helping people by teaching them to ride not helping horses) AND- duh- it’s good luck! She also wanted her barn’s colors of blue/navys and silver/grays so I’m totally throwing a secret Ravenclaw party
But enough blabber, here they are:
There you have it! It also has a pool blue sticker to fasten it shut with the graduation cap and a short message on it but… we ran out by the photo shoot.
Now onto wedding news: a) if you are a teacher or have school related wedding theme and are kind of out of the box (and honestly, you wouldn’t be on this site if you weren’t), that scantron graduation card could also be made into a wedding invitation. Actually, let’s put it on record, I will make anything you want into a wedding invitation. Any concept that is. I won’t weld things or anything.
Secondly: my second of retro invitations is very 40-50′s Vegas cool. I don’t think any of the Rat Pack was notably married, were they? I was thinking Don and Betty (Draper, obviously, from Mad Men) but Betty would totes want something without an old school champagne glass on it. Thoughts?
Lastly, I came across this on one of my design blogs today and am totally intrigued:
